  • Breast Cancer Fundraising!

    Thu 16 Nov 2023 Donna

    Dear Cherubins Day Nursery

    You're an inspiration!

Congratulations on successfully completing your Fundraising and raising an incredible £134.51!  It’s an amazing achievement and every donation that you’ve raised will be put to good use straight away towards preventing breast cancer. Thank You!

Your wonderful support means we can continue to help people, like Tina, reduce their risk of breast cancer. Tina was just 29 years old when she received her first breast cancer diagnosis, which led to a 10-year journey of self-discovery. This was followed by a second diagnosis in 2017 and despite having made some initial changes to address her work life balance, Tina realised she needed to make some major changes to take control of her lifestyle. She is now very focused on health and nutrition and is passionate about helping others to reduce their risk of breast cancer through healthy lifestyle choices.

Through your fantastic fundraising, you’re helping more people reduce their risk of ever getting breast cancer, so they don’t have to go through the upheaval of a diagnosis as Tina did.

We really can't thank you enough!

  • New little fluffy additions to the Cherubins family (Lewisham)

    Thu 11 May 2023

"We would like to share some exciting news".

For the last 20 days one of our hens (Ruby who we have had since she was 5 days old) has been sitting on 5 eggs. Some of the pre school children joined me last week to do what is called candling of the eggs which is looking through the egg with a torch in the dark to see if anything is growing inside. We could see that 2 of the eggs had chicks inside which was very exciting for the children and staff. 2 of the other eggs are less developed.

Today we have noticed that one of the eggs has a tiny crack which means hopefully by tomorrow we will have a new baby chick.

This for us shows how happy our pets are in their new housing that they are reproducing in a lovely natural way. Some of the children have been excited about the whole process and it has been lovely to be able to the children this experience as not many children get this sort of experience within their nursery. It's all thanks to our parents who helped and contributed to the fund raising to build a large safe and warm house for our pets.

  • Jeans for Gene's day

    Wed 21 Sep 2022 Eileen

We raised £166.53 for Jeans for Gene's day thank you to everyone who helped us raise our largest amount so far for this particular charity.

To raise funds for jeans for Gene's day the children helped to bake cakes in all our rooms and then the staff sold them at the end of the day welcoming donations from our parents. We also did a raffle making up the prizes from donations from our staff.

The children had great fun exploring lots of different blue activities throughout the nursery from blue water play to decorating a pair of jeans with different blue materials.

  • 19th September - National Day of Mourning for our late Queen

    Mon 19 Sep 2022

    13th September 2022

    To all our Parents/carers

Re: 19th September - National Day of Mourning for our late Queen

We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and extend our deepest sympathies to the Royal family.

The Queen has been a constant thread throughout all of lives and her passing will leave an indelible mark on each of us.  Her Majesty has been the most remarkable servant of her nation, demonstrating service, commitment, steadfastness and humility through a life of reign which has seen our lives transformed in so many ways.

We would like to inform you that as Monday 19th September 2022 has now been identified as a bank holiday for the funeral of the late Queen. The setting will be closed as a mark of a respect to take part in the National Day of Mourning.  This will enable staff, children, and families to pay their respects watching the televised events for our late monarch.

    Thank you for your co-operation.

  • Pet fund raising update

    Fri 16 Sep 2022 Eileen

Total fund raising to date is £864.00

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped to raise way more than we appealed for. The obstacle course was great fun and all the children really enjoyed it as did the staff. We are now in the process of preparing to order the wood ect for the build and hope to begin building it early October. We are going to leave the fund raising page up for 1 more week for those of you who still want to contribute. Any money left over from the housing build will go towards the cost of fox proofing the pets grazing and outdoor exploring area. As I am sure some of you are aware that whilst having our tea party yesterday we had a visit from a fox who killed a pigeon just outside our pets area. Therefor we are going to try to enclose it all as quickly as possible. Thank you all again Eileen
