Cherubins Day Nursery

Donations for Brixton soup kitchen

Like most of us life seems to be a struggle however some of us are better off then others, I am sure that at one point during our life’s we have all struggled.

both branches of Cherubins day nursery are working alongside Brixton soup kitchen that do a wonderful job of making sure that people that are in reduced circumstances/ homeless are able to have a hot meal and drink and just somewhere to get out of the cold and talk to others, life on the streets can be a cold, scary and lonely place. Whilst we do often think of these people when confronted by them, we all need to remember that it could be one of us, a family member or a friend.

They rely on donations and volunteers to continue their selfless work, they offer legal advice to the homeless and a lawyer comes every Thursday between 6-8 pm. We are calling on all our families to help support the wider communities and bring in tinned, dried or personal items to donate.

The things we take for granted are often just out of reach and charities should start on our doorstep. There will be baskets left at the reception area over the next 2 weeks please bring whatever you can and drop in the baskets or ask one of the staff to do so.

There are 166,000 homeless people living in the capital and of these 81,000 are children, a new report from the London Councils network has claimed. On average, this means one in every 23 children in London is homeless – living without permanent and suitable accommodation

Official figures have revealed a 33% increase in the number of people who experienced street homelessness, compared to the same time last year. That's 4,118 people sleeping rough on the streets of London between January and March 2024.

Your help and donations will be very much appreciated!
