The children in saffron room(2-3 years) have been reading the book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. This is their focus book of the fortnight; the staff and children have been reading the story book, using props from the stories and a variaty of other fun filled activties. The Room have planned a teddy bears picnic based around the Hungry caterpillar. This event will take place on the Wednesday the 5th May 2021 in the morning from 10am.  The children and staff will set up this outside in the garden with picnic blankets and their very own favourite teddy bear from home.

The children and teddy bears will be eating like the The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the picnic, trying treats such as Swiss cheese, Plums, Strawberries, oranges, apples, watermelon, pears, cherry tarts, chocolate cake, ice cream cones, lollies, pickles, sausages (chicken) and cup cakes.

Over the next couple of weeks the nursery will be receiving the very own caterpillars, for the children to learn about the life cycle of the butterfly. The children will see the wonder of how they grow from an egg to a caterpillar and then a beautiful butterfly for all group rooms.
